CATHAL HAYES BRINGS CUP HOME TO EMLY
The Forge Bar capturedthis seasons Tipp Cup in impresive style Last Sunday(January 27th) beating local rivals and current Intermediate Champions Premier Bar-Ballylanders 4-2 in a very competitive final at the G.A.A. Center,Clonmel.Cathal Hayes secured the victory for the Emly men winning the sixth match of the tie to bring The Crowe Cup to West Tipp for the first time.A 4-1 victory in the first round over Premier West rivals,Brosnans-Cashel set a match-up with defending Cup Winners,The Local Bar-Clonmel in the last eight.A 4-0 scoreline didn't reflect the true competitive nature of this tie.The Tipperary County Champions,Crokes-B-Carrick on Suir were the next victims for the Westerners before capturing the Cup against the Ballylandrers outfit captained by the 18 year old Stephen Sheehan.
The Premier themselves had a very good run to the final,disposing of three Premier Division sides in the process,Lady Gregory- Kilmoyler, Feehan's-Cashel and the much fancied Shamrock-Cahir in the semi-final.
