CARRICK-ON-SUIR DARTS MASTERS
POPRZEDNI POLSKI MIĘDZYNARODOWY WYGRYWA TURNIEJ
FORMER POLISH INTERNATIONAL WINS CARRICK MASTERS
Former Polish International and Tipperary County player ,Tom Mikolajczk took a stunning victory at last Sundays Carrick Masters.Denying Bernard Barry a home victory in the final by a score of 3 legs to 1,Tomas deservedly walked away with the honours droping only two legs all afternoon. Two stunning results against Tom Ivors and James Morrissey(both 3-0) on the way to the final set the Feehans,Cashel clubman up for a final against local hero Bernard Barry.Bernard was made to work hard to qualify for his second final of the season with all but one of his games ending 3-2 although he left a very impressive list of opponent in his wake.Del Sheehan,Pat Reynolds,Noel Hally(defending the Carrick title) and Noel Landy were all put to the sword by the former Tipperary,Waterford and Kilkenny star.
Notable performances on the day by Kate Ryans,Clonmel John Paul Burns, reaching his second succesive quater-final before bowing out to Noel Landy.A return to form too for both Clonmels Mick O'Connell and Cahirs Noel Hally, defending Carrick Master, both reaching the quater-final stage.Noel Landy(Golden Inn,Golden) also shook off his bad luck going all the way to a semi-final,suprisingly his first good run in a singles tournament since reaching the last four in last years Tipperary County Masters tournament.Ger Browne consolidates his position for a spot in the County Masters after overcoming Tig Ui Riains,Clonmel Micheal O'Brien and Ballylanders Steven Sheehan, giving himself an outside shot at makng the County panel for the All-Ireland iin the procces.
Pat''Chisler''Reynolds is now ranked Number One in Tipperary despite defeat in the second round.
Thanks to our hosts,Tom and Margaret Croke of Croke's Bar,Kickham Street,Carrick-on-Suir,and the members of the Crokes Darts Club for all their help on the day.
The final qualifying round in this seasons Tipperary Masters is on the 13th of January at the Shamrock Lounge in Cahir, where the Cahir Darts Masters will take place. It is still al to play for on the Tipperary Masters front with only about half a dozen players with enough points to feel their invitation is secure for the Tipperary County Masters. It is still not too late to qualify with one good performance enough to qualify for a shot at the County title.
On the Inter-County front the make-up of this seasons Tipperary All-Ireland panel is still not certain with only four points seperating 20th from 13th.All questions will be answered after the Cahir Masters and unfortunatly only sixteen can make the squad so best of luck to those players involved in the battle for the final places.
